Helix Limited has applied for a shadow premises licence for the Royal Exeter Hotel in Bournemouth, which mirrors the existing licence. This secondary licence acts as a safeguard if the original is lost, allowing leasing to third parties. CEO Richard Carr’s return to the hotel sector follows a brief management agreement. However, 28 objections have been raised concerning noise, safety, and anti-social behaviour. At a recent licensing meeting, hotel representatives stated there have been no significant issues over the past 20 years, with occasional noise complaints managed appropriately. The committee will decide on the licence privately before announcing their decision.
