Labour Party unveils manifesto for town council elections

In October, Labour councillors opposed establishing new town councils, with a proposal to delay until 2027 rejected. Labour plans to contest 23 of the newly created 27 wards, focusing on several priorities, including effective spending to restore local pride, protecting community spaces, and enhancing safety. Their campaign highlights the need for better-maintained public areas and community hubs, promising to champion libraries and create inclusive play spaces. Labour aims to collaborate with police for quicker solutions to local issues like graffiti and fly tipping, addressing residents’ concerns about safety and lack of vision from the current council.
