Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service issued an Amber wildfire alert due to dry conditions increasing fire risks. Group manager Graham Kewley cautioned visitors to the countryside to remain vigilant and avoid barbecues and campfires, particularly on heathland and in woodlands. Previous fires in Dorset, many suspected to be deliberately set, highlight the importance of public safety. The service reminds people that disposable barbecues are banned in many areas and urges them to extinguish smoking materials properly. Reporting suspicious fire-setting behavior is encouraged by calling 999 or 101. More safety tips are available on their website.
