Dorset Police to enhance assistance for stalking victims

Dorset Police is implementing a national action plan to combat stalking, following a super complaint from the Suzy Lamplugh Trust. Detective Superintendent Helen Deakin highlights the need for a coordinated response, emphasizing support for victims and prevention of stalking behaviors. The force has begun implementing new investigative pathways and training, and collaborating with local partners to change perpetrator behavior through the Compulsive Obsessive Behaviour Intervention (COBI) program. Dorset’s police and crime commissioner, David Sidwick, stresses the importance of timely victim support through services like the Independent Stalking Advocacy Caseworker. Victims are encouraged to report incidents online or by calling 101.
