Poole lifeboats deployed following several red flare sightings

On April 19, RNLI Poole Lifeboat Station received reports of red flares, prompting HM Coastguard to launch both Poole lifeboats at 9 PM. Multiple sightings indicated a location near Arne/Wareham Channel. The D class lifeboat searched the shallows while the Atlantic lifeboat explored towards Giggers Island. After thorough searches with no signs of distress reported, both lifeboats were stood down and returned safely to the station by 11 PM. This incident marked the 17th and 18th launches of the year for Poole lifeboat crews, with no unusual findings noted during the operation.
