New Forest blaze tackled by forty firefighters at Bagshot Moor

On April 18 at 5pm, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service received numerous emergency calls regarding a significant heathland fire at Bagshot Moor, East Boldre. Crews from various locations responded and fought the blaze, which consumed approximately 15 hectares of heath and gorse. By 7:30pm, the fire was under control, and firefighters worked until 8pm to ensure safety. Residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke. A spokesperson confirmed the destruction of roughly 15 hectares of land, highlighting the scale of the incident.
