University Hospitals Dorset, in collaboration with the UK Health Security Agency, NHS, and Dorset Council, is taking measures to limit infection spread, including administering antibiotics and MenB vaccinations to some local young people. Parents of Year 7 and above students at Budmouth Academy and Wey Valley Academy are encouraged to ensure their children receive these treatments. Schools will maintain regular routines, and the public is advised to be alert for meningitis symptoms—fever, headache, vomiting, and rash. Individuals displaying symptoms should seek immediate medical attention at A&E or call 999.
