Plastic recycling bin installed on seafront

A new nautical-themed recycling bin for plastic bottles has been installed on Weymouth’s seafront near the Jubilee Clock. This initiative, part of the GreenSeas Trust campaign, is the first of its kind in Weymouth and Dorset, aimed at reducing plastic pollution in oceans and rivers. Unveiled on April 2 by Mayor Councillor Caroline Nickinson and GreenSeas Trust founder Fazilette Khan, it is the 24th such bin placed in coastal or riverside locations across the UK. Local leaders hope this installation will encourage responsible recycling among residents and visitors, reminding them of their role in reducing plastic waste.
