New anti-litter signs introduced across Weymouth

New signs have been installed in Weymouth to address litter and dog fouling, particularly at Marsh playing fields and Melcombe Regis Cemetery. This initiative, spearheaded by Litter Free Dorset in collaboration with Dorset Council, aims to improve cleanliness in identified hotspot areas. Additional cigarette bins have been placed along Custom House Quay and Trinity Road to encourage responsible disposal. The locations for these changes were selected based on a litter survey and community feedback. The project will trial various designs and messages to determine the most effective strategies for encouraging better public behavior and supporting the MyWeymouth litter initiative.
