Hundreds of glasses donated for recycling

Over six hundred pairs of glasses have been donated in Weymouth and Portland for recycling and distribution to developing countries. The Weymouth & Portland Lions Club spearheaded the initiative, collecting over 200 pairs from Portland Community Action, 80 from a Sue Ryder charity shop, and around 400 from Boots Opticians in Weymouth. The donated glasses will be sent to the Lions’ Birmingham headquarters for sorting and distribution to eye hospitals abroad. Organizers emphasize the impact of this scheme on improving vision care access for those who cannot afford it and express gratitude to all contributors.
