Cllrs Cathy Lugg and Mike Parkes questioned the withdrawal of the lollipop lady in Church Road, Ferndown, fearing risks to schoolchildren. Lugg suggested that Dorset Council consider accepting funding from the town council to maintain the service. Cllr Jon Andrews countered, stating the decision was not financially motivated; rather, he explained it was council policy to not have both a crossing patrol and zebra crossings together, as this could confuse drivers. He assured that Dorset Council would keep employing crossing patrols where necessary.
