Plans for four flats on Lakeside Road, Poole, were approved despite local objections regarding cliff stability, parking, drainage, and potential damage to neighboring properties. Initially approved in April 2025, the revised scheme drew nine objections, with residents expressing concerns about coastal erosion and the integrity of construction. Ward Councillor Gavin Wright highlighted issues related to excavation and potential damage, but planning officers concluded the damage couldn’t be considered in the decision, citing a geological engineer’s assessment that the development wouldn’t affect cliff stability. Ultimately, councillors voted 6-2, with one abstention, to approve the amendments.
