A proposal to lower the speed limit to 20mph on St John’s Hill, outside St John’s CE VC First School in Wimborne, is currently under consideration by Dorset Council, with support from both the town council and the school. Headteacher Michelle Prince highlighted safety concerns from parents regarding traffic issues, including increased congestion and lack of a dedicated School Crossing Patrol. To address these issues, the school has engaged the community through road safety workshops and public consultations, aiming to enhance safety for students and reduce the risk of accidents along the busy road.
