Police launch checks on drivers at Poole

Police in Dorset have initiated a crackdown on drink and drug driving among travelers arriving by plane and ferry. Roadside checks are being conducted to ensure drivers are not over the legal limit after potential drinking during their journeys. During the campaign launch at the Port of Poole, officers stopped 97 vehicles, with none exceeding the drink drive limit. Inspector Lee Turner highlighted that alcohol and travel fatigue can impair driving abilities. Police and Crime Commissioner David Sidwick emphasized there is never an excuse for intoxicated driving, thanking officers for their efforts to keep the roads safe.
