Bournemouth town centre remains under a police cordon after a man in his 40s died following an assault.
Officers were called at around 3am on Monday 6 April 2026 to reports of an incident outside MyBar in Charminster Road, where a man from Christchurch was pronounced at the scene and his next of kin has since been informed.
Following what police described as “fast-time enquiries”, two men from Bournemouth aged 37 and 46, along with a 34-year-old man from Poole, have been arrested on suspicion of murder as detectives continue to establish the full circumstances.
Detective Chief Inspector Nicky Jenkins said a “detailed investigation is underway” and confirmed that a cordon remains in place while enquiries are carried out, adding that officers believe a number of people in the area may have witnessed what happened.
She also urged drivers who were in the area at the time to check dashcam footage for anything that may assist, and said there will be an increased police presence locally in the coming days as work continues.
Anyone with information is being asked to come forward and speak to officers.
