Fire crews tackle blaze at car park loo

Melcombe Regis saw emergency crews attend a late night fire after a portable toilet caught alight in a town centre car park.

Firefighters were called to the car park on Commercial Road shortly before 11pm, where they found a portaloo on fire. Crews worked to extinguish the blaze and make the area safe. The incident drew attention from nearby residents due to the visible flames and smoke in the area.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they attended the scene and dealt with the fire promptly. There has been no confirmation of any injuries or damage beyond the portable toilet itself.

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed. Fire crews remained on site for a short time to ensure there was no risk of the fire restarting before leaving the scene.
